About FMGuido

FMGuido is a one-man operation with the sole focus of helping more people win at Football Manager and enjoy the game more by sharing in-depth, actionable guides.

I’ve played Football Manager ever since I was a little kid.

At 10 years, old I got my hands on CM Itailia, the second edition of the game after the popular release of the original Championship Manager in England. This was the game of Brian Laudrup and Ryan Giggs, who were always fantastic purchases.

It was also the game, where the teams were full after a few seasons and as you couldn’t release players, you were stuck with the players you had.

Naturally, I was hooked to CM Italia and I’ve been playing first Championship Manager and after the shift in the early 00’s, Football Manager.

My fondest memories of the game is like many others CM 01/02. Even though it feels dated today it was a fantastic game back then and there are so many legendary players from this game.

Initially in the game, you bought the likes of Tonton Zola Moukoko, To Madeira and Emil Debski and you could get these players for any team.

And then later on after patch 3.68, suddenly, all the Greek players were amazing.

Ahhhh, good times.

Back then, the single most important aspect of your success in Football Manager was buying the right players. While this is still extremely important, nowadays, the game is much more focused on getting all the small things right.

I think that is a fantastic change and it is a realistic change, however, many people have a hard time keeping up with the changes.

FMGuido was created to change that.

The goal is to create a home for very in-depth guides and case studies, that make you guys better at the game.

I truly hope you enjoy what I’m creating here as I’m creating it for you guys so if you have any aspect you’ll like me to cover or just want to say hi, please don’t hesitate in getting in touch.

Best

Steve
